It was possible without problems (except sound) to use Yape 0.50 with Linux and Wine, but newer version of Yape doesn't run in this environment...

What error you exactly got? The only thing I can think of is the DX overlay support.

Yape 0.6x works perfectly with Wine 0.9.14! I can make "format c:" :D

On topic, can someone provide step-by-step, tell-me-exactly-what-to-type style instructions on how to compile the YAPE SDL on let's say Ubuntu?

I could compile Yape SDL but it couldn't run.  Yape for Microsoft Windows can run under Linux...
