If you own an "old" PC, then you are lucky! Because you can use an easy-to-(self)made X1541 cable instead of a more complex XE1541. If you have a Pentium I, II, III or ... then you can bypass the problem simply adding a good "old" multi I/O ISA card (in this case you will use the 2nd or 3rd LPT).
I supply these info because I started become crazy with my PC Pentium and X1541 cable.
