I know the basics of interlaced from Amiga screen modes to Team 17 logo, game consoles to dvd ect. 
If you fancy having a look with your own gear, no need to rush in to anything!! Making space and moving machines and screens is a pain, took me a while setting the C16 up, and it took just as long to put everything back. In your own time, no rush!
