| Possible failing component ?
Hi there,
I have a C16 and a +4 that after a certain random time, sometimes >1 hour.... (sometimes never...) suddenly freeze with garbage on screen. Everything is working fine just before. I power off / power on the computer and it works again...
Is there a particular faulty component that could cause this behavior ? or do you think is it more general ? (bad capacitors...).
Thank you

If they were mine I would be pointing the finger at the power adapters. The voltage may drop once it gets to a certain temperature.... A voltage drop can crash the machine.

I would replace the fuse as a first attempt at fixing it, that used to help back in the day.

Normally capacitors have problem with cold, the silicon products have thermal issues.
If 2 different machines have the same unusual problems: probability they don't have any problems and you have to investigate in "when" it happens. Is electrical power in your house stable? Did your body touch any part of the computer connectors? (directly or indirectly: ESD)
