Yep I've noticed the release in the morning and linked the source code zip file only just because I'm still at workplace (gonna add more download links once at home). Pretty nice work there again guys, hope to see more from you in the next future!

Thanks Luca,
I like the idea of working on all the main CBM machines so hopefully, there will be more releases in the future as well.

The improvements are really nice. There is a better control, and also I really like from the beginning the built-in trainer. The new STE title screen also looks fantastic. The quality and generally speaking the game atmoshere (with the nice music and sound effects) is very good. Congrats!
PS: about the TED version: I feel the initial music is a little too fast, maybe 30% -50% faster than th SID version. As there is no animation (etc), next time would be nice to try out the TLC's digi SID converter and there should be enough rastertime for that (I have no clue about the free space)
There was a nice achivent by IstvanV on the live SID emulation (upper frequencies are there too), but it sacrifices majority of the memory, so it is possible to use only with D64 games, with separated title screen. Unfortunately it has no separate thread, but discussed at the end of: forum/31224#33977.

Thanks for your comments MMS,
The TED music is just a straight MIDI conversion from the Spectrum version so it was never going to be very good, but that is down to my lack of music skills! I'll look into ways to improve it for the future. IIRC the TED music & sfx uses about 3.5k and there is about another 1.5k free in the Plus4 version so that gives us about 5k to play around with if we were to look to improve the sounds.

Hi emu!
Thanks for your comments. I see, I thought it is using a kind of simple SID frequency converter (I was in a hurry, so probably mixed them) Never mind, the release is fantastic, my programming AND music skills are close to nothing . (I just always have in my mind some Speccy guys' comments, that they could do digi tracker on THAT 1 bit sound channel, so... and there are really a lot of good methods).
OFF BTW I just recently saw, how TRSI64 made a SID playback from BASIC. Epic! (with a hacked SID file) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hETOhD-T9TE
He made a same with onscreen PETSCII machine coding too. What to add here.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1X8J1HzGWIo

Thanks for the links.
The TED version uses TEDzakker for its sound and the SID version uses Goattracker.
The very first version of Pentagram I did for the C64 had a midi conversion of the Spectrum music as well (as I did the music for the first SID version). Then Saul very kindly offered to improve the SID sound, which then appeared in all the SID versions after that. Saul used the original Spectrum tunes as a basis but improved them greatly for the SID chip. It's down to Saul's skill that the new SID versions sound so good.
