 Re: Puzzle

A plus/4 (yeah, that was easy) with a BSz SIDCard plugged in and an SD2IEC with display?

 Re: Puzzle

Now I've downloaded the pic to check it in fully detail but still have no clue about that drive emulator. I was not sure if it's an SD2IEC, it was a guess only as SD2IEC firmware does not handle so many buttons. happy

PS: and in the full detail I was able to see that it's a 8580 SIDCard. wink

 Re: Puzzle

That't the new 1541 full hw emulator card developed by some Hungarian guy you mentioned before I guess.
Wow, that lcd display showing what is mounted atm is very cool!
I want that! Does it run Bitfire properly? happy

Slightly offtopic, but there is an extremely cool new drive emulator in the works by Zoltán Kollár, it is SD card based and will support disk turbos as well as it emulates a full 1541.

 Re: Puzzle

Bubis is right, it's a new HW level 1541 drive emulator. Many disk turbos do work already, many does not. The turbos that long failed to load properly in YAPE are currently not loading on this one either (+4 mania forever, Metapharstic, Crackers Demo 3) probably due to strict timing of the serial bus. I can test bitfire tonight and see. Some recent games and demos from Mad do work actually. If there is enough international interest the guy is willing to do another batch. You can indicate to me if you want one. Strong commitment is required. Indicative price is around 90 EUR excluding cables and power adapter.

BTW, I own serial number #002 happy

I have inserted the image inline since apparently not everyone could watch the mycloud one.

I thought this was the new TED chip from BSZ with UHD resolution and 4x64 bit digi channels. /+built-in memory expansion as needed, OC/.

 Re: Puzzle

I am only interested if I see it guaranteed that it will be fully compatible with a real 1541 drive.
I couldn't find any details about this thing on the internet, that would be very helpful.

 Re: Puzzle

I have a UK1541. It emulates a real 1541 and it's usable with the plus/4. Unfortunately it lacks .G64 and file system level support (it can handle diskimages only) so an SD2IEC is more usable for general purpose although it lacks compatibility.
Krill's loader works with the UK1541 so I'm pretty sure that Bitfire works too.

 Re: Puzzle

I just checked and both Krill's as well as the Bitfire loader works and Zoltán is debugging the old demos that still fail to load (mostly using Coby's loader based on Megaload 4) because of extremely tight bit banging.

 Re: Puzzle

as I see, there will be a section at Arok 2017, Zoltan Kollar demonstrates this SD1541 (?).
