Think this SD2IEC would work for the Plussy if I picked up a joystick adapater?

Has anyone tested what drawing power off of the joystick ports will do to the Plus/4? SD2IEC drives don't draw a lot of power, so I think it would be ok... but I'm not sure I'd want to be the first person to test it. The TED isn't exactly known for durability.

the other SD2IEC goes of the cassette deck... so we'd need another adapter for that

I would recommend the tape port powered one. That one is designed to power an external device. And you can always cut down the C64 tape connector and replace it with an 8-pin mini-DIN.

I already bought the Joystick one... but what if. I plugged it into the 64 while I played the plussy

The plus/4 joystick port also has the +5V so with a joystick port adapter it should work too. The +5V is not even connected to TED so it should be safe. It's just my gut feeling that I would prefer the tape port one. But most probably the joystick port powered version should work fine too.
