Transactor Magazine, January 1987 issue, has an article about interfacing a VIC-20 to a robotic arm. You'll need the appropriate memory maps to convert their sample program to work on a C64 or Plus/4 -- VIC and C64 maps are in Vol 4 Issue 5; use SVS's Ultimate Map for the Plus/4.
