How? Give long names to your files. CBM DOS allows up to 16 character long file names.

Save'em with no extension: "this_is_a_prg.prg" must be renamed as "this is a prg".

... or swith on extension hiding on the SD2IEC with command XE4 or XE+ (and store them with XW).
I use setting XE4 and that way my SD2IEC always gives the proper extension to files and reports the proper file type based on the extension.
You can check the SD2IEC README for more settings.
