Hi i have a sd2iec drive that works fine with mine c+4 and mine c116 but it doesn't work with my c16
Why?
Does that mean some TED problems or other chips issues?
Oh btw the drive is powered from the cassete port.

Have you tried connecting the sd2iec to the C16 and power the sd2iec from the plus/4's tape port (if the cable is long enough to make that work)?
(I know, C16 and C116 should behave the same way but you should check powering the sd2iec from a different machine to see if it's just a power supply issue.)
If that works … What kind of PSU do you have for the C16? The original one?

i guess the ports must have some defect. Have you tried normal discdrive or datasette at the c16? on
another issue i had with the sdiec was thw sd-card was not compatible with the drive.

ok, so I checked once again the c16 with real 1541 and it doesn't work.
while pressing the reset button or the power button the drive resets too but DIRECTORY nor DLOAD doesn't seem to work - silents.
does is mean TED chip is dead?
I have spare C16 which boots to black screen. it could be a donor of the spare parts if needed.

its more likely that one the pins of the connector do not have physical contact. or a line of the port is broken atthe point where is solded at the mainport. you can open the case.
