| Nintendo joystick transformed to Commodore, Atari, etc
I'd cannibalized a Nintendo joystick (removed IC, ...) and soldered wires directly to the toggle switches.
The old Nintendo connector is not wired with this updated joystick.

To be honest you should of sold it as I'm sure it's a rare stick for a NES and then bought a proper one. The NES one must be worth more than the classic 9pin version!
and here is my REAL one, no soldering required!

The NES version has 2 buttons. For a C16/Plus4 this is not important (I suppose) but for a C64 you can add another D9 conector and connect the second button to the space bar.
Perhaps will it work for a TED computer too?

I long forget but...
If you set key commands only in a program to detect a joystick then "SPACE" is FIRE on one of the ports???

This joystick had even 4 buttons! However only two are useful for C+4. I don't see any problem to connect the second button to other joystick port. So it may be fire, up, left, right, or left. My transformation allows to use both buttons as fire - it allows to use 2 fingers. One finger fires, other rests.
