Just had an email off a mate of mine who deals in retro computers asking about a plus 4 repair, I've never even used one, let alone repair one so I thought I'd ask here and pass on the information I've been given, see if anyone here can help out any.
Basically he can run C16 games but nothing that's +4 only, also the integrated software doesn't work when pressing F1 (which is not necessarily a bad thing!)

Looks like a RAM failure. How many free bytes does it declare in the initial text once he turned on the Plus/4? Expected: 60671
Plus 4 Service Manual is a good one for that too...

Thanks, ive emailed him asking about free RAM and ill report back whats said (Could that also prevent the built in software from starting too?)

Had a reply, this is what he replied with;
"yep, 60671 on start up, can't for life of me figure out why these 3 games won't load, 3 copys of icicle works, 2 of number builder & 2 of number chaser, ive even downloaded rom files & recorded on tape the same result, i find this suspicious because they are plus4 games only which is why i suspected memory fault, c16 games load fine everytime but treasure island which is plus4 only loads fine, i suppose it could still be be a bad memory block, will have a look inside to see if i can see anything obvious"
