Run/Stop+Reset in VICE is pressing "Esc" (=Run/Stop), and while holding it down, pressing Alt+F9 (=Reset). You can then enter the cheat and restart codes as described on the Fire Ant page. Alternatively, you may also use the VICE monitor while the game is running, by pressing Alt+h, and then typing the cheat code in the console; however, do not use the restart code in this case, but rather just exit the monitor with the 'x' command.
If you use the more accurate plus4emu or YAPE emulators instead, then Run/Stop is Tab, and Reset is F11 in both cases, so you need to press Tab+F11 for the TEDMON. Also, Alt+m will activate the built-in monitor/debugger of both emulators. In the case of YAPE, this brings up a console window that you can use similarly to the VICE monitor (that is, '>XXXX YY' cheat code(s), and then 'x' to resume the game). If using plus4emu, you need to select the "Page 2" tab first at the top of the debugger window, then click the upper left box (which is the monitor), and type '>XXXX YY' style cheat code and then 'x' like above.
