Re: How do I have to use a Datassette (Model1531)

Ulysses777 you are a genius.
I opened my Plus/4 and I found the problem.
The guy who owned this Plus/4 before, removed the fuse.
Now I am no longer wondering why my datasette did not work.
Tomorrow I'll buy a new fuse.

And from now I'll praise you as my new god of commodore Ulysses777.
When tomorrow everything works fine, I'll build a shrine for you. :-D

First of all, welcome happy And this forum is about anything Plus/4 related, not just emulators happy

As for your problem, because you've unsuccessfully tried two datasettes, it's possible that the internal fuse in the Plus/4 may have blown, which would result in no power going to the cassette port. If you're comfortable opening up the Plus/4, you'll find the fuse in the top right corner of the mainboard. If it needs a new fuse, a replacement fuse is a 3AG type fast-blow fuse rated at 1.5A.

If this doesn't work, or the fuse is OK, you may have a faulty Plus/4.

Sounds like the cassette player is actually broken (I have one that's broken too). This should be very easy to check: simply hook it up to a turned on Plus/4 and press play. If you see the motor turning the tape, you're okay (and then it could be a tape problem). However if it motor is not running (the tape is not winding), when the datasette is probably dead.

How do I have to use a Datassette (Model1531)

I know that this is a Forum, which is about Plus4 Emulators and not about Plu4 Hardware problems, but i hope that someone can help me.
I bougth an old Commodore plus/4 a cupple of month ago. It came with a floppy drive and a datasette. I tried to load a game with this datasette, but nothing happened. So I thougth it migth be broken. But now I got a second datasette and it still does not work.

Maybe one of you knows how to use this datasette.
Here is what I did:
I typed "load" and after that the commodore asked me to press play.
So I pressed play on my datasette. My Commodore said "ok. Searching",
but my datasette did nothing. No light is on, nothing is playing.

Did I forget something?

I hope that you can help me.
