 Luca - question

Hey Luca,
As lando suggests, here I ask the question to you. Do you know if the sidloader.prg thing has been ported to the PLus/4? Otherwise, would it be possible to, through a PC64 cable, use the SID-board equipped Plus/4 as a SID playing dummy machine, just like what you do with a C64/128? Is there any chance of porting the program? Easily?

Thanks in advance,

- Akira

 mmmmm........

Mmmmm...
Let me understand: a Sidloader.prg is a +4 stuff that simply plays c64 sid files, right?

If right, there are lots of sidplayer on the black box, try ftp://c64.rulez.org/pub/plus4/Tools/Music

I prefer the Moldi's Musichearing (that plays sids with sidcard, frq converter and wave converter) and the Proky's Siddriver.

 Not exactly

sidloader.prg is a C64 program which, with the use of a PC64 cable, plays the SIDs that SIDPlay for Windows throws at the C64 thru the PC64 cable. I'd like to do the same thing with the Plus/4. So I was thinking about converting the program or something (if it is not already out there)

About the readily available, normal SID players for the PLus, do any of those accept the vry SAME format that SIDPlay uses?

 but...a simpler choiche?

Mh, I got now...

But I find much simple to convert a .sid file with the /files/convert option, then transfer the file on a 5.25 disk and listen to it with a sidplayer...

 The idea is...

... not to fiddle around with any kind of disks. I just send the SID data thru the PC64 cable to the Plus/4, from my PC, with normal SIDPlay commands. I odnt have to touch 2 machines, or even more, I don't even need to turn on the monitor for the PLus/4, since it works in a 'dummy terminal' mode.

That's what I Wanted to do I guess I'm bettere scoring a C64 and using it as a dumb SID terminal...

 sidloader.prg on the Plus/4?

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if the program sidloader.prg, that comes with SIDPlay for Windows, has been ported over to the Plus/4? I'd like to use a similar player in case I get a SID board.

Do you think it would be too difficult to port it over?

Thanks,

- Akira
