 Re: Mercenary 2?

I'm still convinced that there are several undiscovered Easter eggs hidden somewhere...

Yes I know, you can finish the mission of one of the side, and you get acces to the escape ship, you can steal the escape ship, or collect a ton of money, and rent an escape ship. I played both game to finish back in the day.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

@Crown There are at least three ways to finish the game. And none of them actually require passing mazes. One maze provides an easier route to the interstellar ship, while another helps you earn some money.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

Yeah, I think so, it's marked as "T12 Flips reality" on the map Litwr added.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

The Maze was quite tricky, as I recall, I assume you mapped it with dropping items in each room.

Was there a mechanic in the Second City where controls reversed, or the coordinate system got mirrored? I faintly recall something like that.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

21 years ago I made an attempt to play Mercenary 2. It was my dream since the 80s when I had finished Mercenary - Escape From Targ. I wanted to use my final saved game! But Mercenary 2 was never released. sad They made Damocles instead and only for the Atari ST and Amiga. Mercenary - The Second City is just an additional quest for the original Mercenary. In any case, even the lesser task is worth completing. And finally, it is done!
IMHO this game is one of the best for the C+4. So it is a bit unusual that the high score has still had only two entries...

 Re: Mercenary 2?

There was a bad crack of Mercenary 2 circulating around (I guess the one with an intro but I'm not sure anymore) that was actually the same as Mercenary 1. I used to have Mercenary 2 as a Nova-load original and even played it a little. From what I remember it was way more difficult than the 1st episode.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

I finished M1 several times, bud did not play second city. The version I had was confusing, indeed. I tought it was only a bad joke, really being m1 just altered a bit to look different.

 Re: Mercenary 2?

There was 2 ways of finishing it and I remember correct you could finish the game within 10 minutes or so..

I haven't played it since around the release date which is many, many years ago and I've totally forgot how to do it.

There was a building out side (above the underground) with doors on it and one of them was lock, I'm sure some message poped up. I think you had to find the DART craft and fly up to some space station in the sky, maybe the key was there?? I can't honestly remember.

Try hunting down some Mercenary fan site. It could point you in the right direction?

 Re: Mercenary 2?

First of all make sure that you play the version that starts with the G#### address, or load it from the TAP. On rulez.org there are two additional cracks that are actually bugged.

Differences? First of all: the ground is red happy The items, keys, vehicles, the fact that the Palyars and Mechanoids are at war are ALL THE SAME. It's just a different, and definitely more difficult city.

When you go to the first hangar to hear the job offer (which is in 08-01, not 09-06), take the door that leads to the corridor with the cobweb. At the end of the corridor there's a door. You enter it, and you are in prison. Ouch! And only after a few minutes of gameplay!

 Mercenary 2?

I've tried to play Mercenary 2(?) game. I've reached the Briefing room. Can anybody explain differences between this game and old Mercenary (1)? I cannot find any.
