Maybe the shortage will be gone some day.. The pandemics stop of chip supplies is long gone.. Or?

Re: ThED - TED replacement: Ready for production?!

The current L16 can be built with all new components, except CPU, TED and expansion connector. We'll work on the latter in the next revision.

The old ROMs can be used or all the contents put in a 27512 (E)EPROM.

V3 could either use the original PLA or a GAL16, V4 dropped support for the original one and will require 3 GAL16.

The rest is mostly resistors, capacitors, connectors and standard 74xx series chips.

I like the way you pushing this very much! grin

When considering a board that uses the TED-replacement and the 6502-adapter, is it possible to build a board that only uses new chips (like the SwinSID or ARMSID or new made 65C02 from WDC) or is there any chip left that has to be from the 1980th?

Re: ThED - TED replacement: Ready for production?!

That is good news, I really hope the ThED will be released under an open license with full sources.

This is unfortunately not the case the 6502 -> 8501 adapter, which is great work but it is not open and this means it cannot be updated or maintained in the future unless the authors have interest to do so.

These are the last one/two steps we miss in order to let the x264 line live forever.

ThED - TED replacement: Ready for production?!

Have you read this post on the according page (https://retrohax.net/thed-mos-technology-ted-replacement-for-commodore-264-series/)?

If they are really ready to produce this replacement then it should be able to work. I switched from the - often having failures - C16 (64K) to my plus/4 in 1989 and never wanted the C16 back, but if we sometimes may order a new board (Little16 v10 or something wink ) with the ThED circuit build in and the 8501-replacement-circuit too (https://gitlab.com/toms01/6502a_or_w65c02_at_8501) ...

... that could be the 264-system that is able to exceed the rest of my life and works until the end of this century. Surely placed in one of the new housings (maybe there will be C16-keycaps in the future too: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/keycaps-for-your-commodore-computer/#/updates/all)
