Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! Hope your all enjoying the xmas hols and a Happy New Year!
Cheers Doug, look forward to seeing it! If it's anything like the games you have done before then it will be worth the wait. I mean a potential Icicle Works / Rockman type game that could be the envy of the 8bit world..., yeah baby it will be one gem worth waiting for for sure!
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! I have found an old (about 1986) present in Turbo Vision 4 BASIC: (more info about this program in: TV4BUtilityBrowser -> BASICCujsagkepeslap.tv4)
Type the followings in TV4B and enjoy the "Xmas movie"
poke65306,4 chdir"tvd:BASICCujsag.tvd" dload"kepeslap" run
Use SHIFT or CTRL + Cursors in order to make it more interactive.
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! As an developer myself my humble advice: Never show unfinished things. For several reasons. But i would love to see some screenshots.
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! I'm a huge tease. Sorry!
I had hoped to have it finished by now, but life keeps getting in the way. I'd have loved to have let it out as Christmas present to everyone, but it's simply not finished....
.... I suppose I could post it up in its current form, just so you can have a peek and play what's there. Dunno. What do you guys think???? Should I post it?
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! BTW - I just fired up my new game on my real Plus-4 (connected via HDMI converter, so picture wasn't great), but she ran like a charm and looked real nice. I must get it finished in 2019!!
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! Csabo: I really wish I could claim them as my own work, but I can't.
When I wrote the game, the company I was working for (StateSoft) contracted a chap to write music for their games. He was paid on a per job basis, and didn't want any credit for his work. I can't even remember his name! So he did the music, I did everything else, and the finished thing was sold to Commodore.
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! Doug, glad you liked our demo BTW, did you compose both tunes in Icicle Works? I tracked them both by ear and gosh, the in-game tune is really quite something
Re: Merry Christmas Plus/4 fans! I wish all members and fans of the Commodore 264 series a happy christmas and a really nice time. I have a little gift to you but i'm not allowed to release this little game because it was released as a type in game for the Forum64 topic called "BASIC-Weihnachten" (engl.: BASIC-Xmas).
Some members of F64 (me too) made little BASIC programs for different systems (most C64). This programs were printed in a small book and was sent to all authors and subscribers. The idea behind is to have the fascinating time to xmas which we got a homecomputer and typed in programs first time.
Now, i will upload the complete game (source code as textfile and the prg) to Commodore Plus/4 world. Please don't release it before xmas is over. My game runs on Commodore 16/116 (16KB) and Plus/4, too!
