Last week I updated firmware for my SD2IEC since I haven't never done it and I bought the device 2 years ago. Today I was testing a Plus/4 just delivered from eBay and it was freezing while loading most .prg files (not sure about D64 images as I tend to choose prg if available).
I checked with my known working Plus/4 and got the same issue.
Then I downloaded firmware (an old version) from commodore.software website and now it's working again.
I don't use the SD2IEC for my C128 since I got an Ultimate 2+ last year. I suspect their patches to overcome incompatibilities for C64 games broke Plus/4 compatibility.
At least in my device which is eBay's "despegatop" from Spain, bought 2 years ago as I said.
