While lights are normally linked to autofire with some Quickshots, also make sure it doesn't have flashy lights as these may send power down the wrong wire. Stick with classic joystick design and are known to work on a C64, and of course keep away from autofire as James said.
If it ticks all those boxes have fun!

I'm thinking of buying a joystick adapter for my 264 series machines but am wondering if its ok to use a Quickshot joystick on it that has an autofire function -which i never use as autofire is cheating in my view! I'm guessing it would be ok if I keep autofire off, could someobe confirm this for me?
