It was aimed as an educational tool for school children so that they could learn logical thinking.

Nice!
One comment: with all the respect to the developers of any new programming language and the efforts made, I've never understood the fuss about Logo and turtle graphics (but the same could be told about Fortran, Forth or Cobol on 8 bit).

-For begginers there is built in BASIC, and several extension for speech, graphics, etc. Slow, but with Compilers?
(too bad compilers never built in officially to make fast "final" compiled program out of memory. All the routines were in the memory)
Logo / Lisp could be a little easier to understand, but for me it seems to be limited by it's intentional simplicity.
-For more advanced Programmers (who hate GOTO) there is Pascal (eg. G-Pascal but does not support floating point...)
-For speed and structured programming focused guys the C

How cool is that! And I never understood these bulldozering actions. Don't they do a financial loss and wouldn't it be better to sell them for a very low price or even give them away for zero?

 Logo for the Commodore Plus/4

Due to technical difficulties during the filming of Logo developer, Leigh L. Klotz, Jr. during the May 2017 Bay Area Maker Faire, I had to go over to Leigh's place today and re-film his talk. Instead of a few minutes of behind-the-scene happenings that he related at his previous talk, this time he went more in-depth into the creation of the programming language of Logo, naming names, describing the process of bringing it to market, and identifying the Logo-compatible computers and their limitations. He was responsible for converting Logo for the Apple II to Logo for the C64 and for the Plus/4.

One bit that I did not know... 50,000 cartridges were made for the Plus/4 version of Logo. When the Plus/4 failed, Leigh said that the unsold cartridges were bulldozed by CBM!

After the filming, we went over to his garage, and he pulled out a CBM package of C64 Logo and a CBM package of Plus/4 Logo. I took photos of the Plus/4 Logo packaging and will post those later. Unfortunately, the Plus/4 Logo cartridge was not in the box but was hidden away in some other part of the garage.
