 Re: SID Card

Hi! Thanks for all the replies, and after hearing both the SID and the TED, the SID wins hands down. Very best wishes, Brian.

 Re: SID Card

I hate to admit it, but of course the SID's sound is far superior to the TED.

The TED has only two channels, and no waveforms (well, only square wave or noise), only a single volume control. The SID has 3 channels, each with it's own volume, multiple waveforms and tons of things on top of that.

 Re: SID Card

Compare them.

For example Adventures in mono has SID music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MwwK-tlSC4), while the recent Rocket Science (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnDX0reRdeM) uses strictly the original TED sound of the plus/4.

Of course the programs must support SID card to use it, it's not automatic.

 Re: SID Card

It will add the sound chip of the C64 to the plus/4 thus adding it's sound capabilities too. (It's a sound card.)

 SID Card

Hi! Not knowing much about the SID Card, what exactly would it do for my C=4, please? Best wishes: Brian.
