Re: Write disks from sd2iec to 1551?

Ah, good to know! Now I can try D64it with my SD2IEC and 1551.

Yes, d64it can be used to copy directly to the 1551. With JiffyDOS you can speed up the SD2IEC I/O.

According to the d64it blurb, it uses kernal routines so you should be able to write directly to the 1551.

Or use a 1541 and the SD2IEC with the Plus/4. You can use D64it for the Plus/4, found at

http://siz.hu/en/content/d64it-plus4

Run D64it, and then extract the .D64s on the SD2IEC to the 1541. Then take the newly-made disk and run it on your 1551.

Re: Write disks from sd2iec to 1551?

The 1541 is similar to the 1551 - that they both have the same disk format. The only two ways I can think of doing this are:

1. A PC with a Catweasel Card and PC 5 1/4" Drive (selecting 1541 format)
2. A C64 with a 1541Ultimate Cart and a 1541 Drive (one as drive 8 and the other as 9). Load the .D64 as the disk on the 1541Ultimate and then use the built in freeze cart utilities to copy the disk from the 1541Ultimate to the real 1541 drive and disk.

Neither method would use the sd2iec.

Write disks from sd2iec to 1551?

Hey guys, I have a 1551 drive but no way to write disks on it. I also have an sd2iec, I just had a crazy idea of having them both connected and writing d64s onto the 1551 from the sf2iec on the Plus/4.

Is this even possible?
