 Difference C16/C116 and Plus/4

The main difference is that the C16/C116 has 16KB of memory, Plus/4 has 64 KB. There are also different ROMs, as the Plus/4 has a built-in editor-spreadsheet-database software package, but this is irrelevant to games.

So Plus/4-only games need more than 16 KB of memory (ACE +4), I don't know any C16 games not working on a Plus/4.

The emulators always emulate a Plus/4 or C16 with 64 KB memory expansion (in WinEMU you can emulate a C16 with 16 KB but there is no reason to do so), so you can run any game with any emulator (if the particular emulator supports it - not every emulator emulates all hardware quirks correctly).

For more information and pictures of the machines look at Lando's main page http://plus4.emucamp.com
or at http://you.genie.co.uk/crossconnect/264HOME.HTML
also Mike Dailly's page http://www.scotch.demon.co.uk has good technical infos.

Dumb question ... but please answer

Hi!

I am in the emulation scene foe quit some time.
I own a C64 but never ever had a C16/Plus4.

I wonder what is the difference between them?
All games in the download section seem to be mixed. Or is there no difference between both computers?
Do the emulators need to know whether it is a C16 or a Plus4 game? How do I spot this difference?

Please help me

Thank you
