 Re: emulator's screenshots

Sorry I accidentally used older version of Yape. Yape interlaced BMP shows fine results. happy However these results lose the original FLI flickers. They are a bit too static. So the animated GIF or variants of PNG (MPG, APNG, ...) is also a real choice.

YAPE captures interlaced BMP shots too since several versions.

 Re: emulator's screenshots

You're right, none of the interlaced effects will look right in normal screenshots, since only one frame will be captured. What I normally do is merge two frames in an image editor. There's a lof of possibilities:

1) Add a new feature to the emulators that allows animated GIFs to be saved. The resulting GIFs would still need to be post processed though (to optimize for file size). This could be handy to create small "movies", but specifically for screenshots, it will be flickering. So maybe it's better if the feature just creates single screenshot, at specified frame intervals, for a specified length.

2) Add a new feature to create a 2 frame screenshot (like I do manually). The only issue here is that it will produce an image that has more than 256 colors. Saving a BMP would be fine, but for GIFs, additional processing is needed. Might not be worth the effort happy

 emulator's screenshots

I found that screenshots of plus4emu and yape are far from perfect for the interlaced FLIs. Is it possible to save image in GIF (animated) format? It doesn't need to be too complex. IMHO to save odd screen then to save even screen...
