 Re: In-game video

The idea is good I think. Chronos is also right: this is actually possible to do right now for anyone who can upload videos to YouTube and has editing access to our site. Any new stuff added to any game is welcome! There are many good games in our database that deserve more attention.

Specifically for videos: YouTube videos is one thing. Pros: sure to stay up and handle any bandwidth wink Con: it's off site. We could even do other things... Like put up animated GIFs (pros: high compatibility with browser, no flash or other plug-ins needed, cons: file size, not trivial to generate). We could even use the Java emulator instead of screen shots.

 In-game video

Just browsing through some of the games in the database on here it struck me that it would be a great addition to show a short piece of in-game footage as a video. I wonder how much work it would be to capture 2 or 3 minutes of game action and upload to a group on YouTube? Then there could be a link for each of these in the game detail page along with the screenshots etc.

I see there is a link to a video group created by Luca in a post on here http://plus4world.powweb.com/forum/13934#13943 but this appears to be for demos.

Just a thought.
