 Re: Datasette calibration

You can do a first test by running the following routine (which comes from the old days wink ):

monitor
a0123 lda $01
adc #$38
sta $ff11
jmp $0123

g0123

then press play. You might want to do a cross-test with the good datassette first (so that you can hear how a perfect one should sound like).

Listening to how the unit sounds (if it gives any signs of life, at all) will give you a first pointer on how/what should be repaired.

 Datasette calibration

I am still playing with my new plus4. I am facing some problems with the datasette. I know for sure that the plus4 is fine since everything is working with an old datasette of mine. However the datasatte that came with the plus4 doesn't seem able to read any file. Since the datasette seems in efficient mechanical conditions ( it looks almost new ) I suppose that there is some problem with magnetic dirt or mechanical calibration. What should I do to check its functioning?
