 Re: C16 & Plus/4

Guys, this one of those questions that make me think that we REALLY need a good knowledge base. It comes up from time to time, and it would be nice to have a definitive place for the answer.

Anyway, MOST of the programs should work. However, by using bad programming practices, it's possible to create C16 only programs easily. I'll give you one example, sorry if it's too technical - but it's a real life example that a few commercial C16 games exhibit. By setting the character generator to $5000 on the C16 - it's the same as setting it to $1000. Because the 16K memory repeats for times, $1000 is same as $5000 and $9000 and $D000. So on the C16 this is fine, but on the Plus/4 there's different memory area there, so the character sets won't work. The good programming practice would be to set it to $1000, where the data really is.

 C16 & Plus/4

If a program is written for the C16 will it work on The Plus/4. Are they the same
basic syntax?
