Funny I was just thinking we forgot to plan anything for this year, but it looks like someone did.
APR1 LF 00 L5 20 07 = April fools 2007 (so the 5 stands for S).

Fantastic 1stAF! Tell me the author now, or it will fall into the sad /Demos/_Unsorted/ folder. Why APR1L F00L52007? What the 5 stands for? Is it referred to a "serial" line of jokes? Csabo, are you? LOL! Must see it another time!

Well, I do feel stupid now.
It did not occur to me that it was April 1st., or that my European friends like to play jokes as much as the people on this side of the Atlantic do.
So... you got me!

I am sorry.... I forgot that Csabo changed the forum format, and we can't direct link images without proper code.
Please copy and paste these images until someone fixes my post: NTSC: http://24.163.214.249:6914/images/1942-ntsc-1.jpg PAL: http://24.163.214.249:6914/images/1942-pal-1.jpg

OK, I downloaded the file and tried to use it in YAPE 0.70.
With either NTSC (my format) or PAL (the original format), I get a BREAK into the monitor with some really weird pointers.
[Please note that if my IP changes, these screenshots will not appear.]
<img src="http://24.163.214.249:6914/images/1942-ntsc-1.jpg"><br> <img src="http://24.163.214.249:6914/images/1942-pal-1.jpg"><br>
Is it possible that a newer version of YAPE runs this correctly? Or is it possible that the copy-protection and/or turbo loader used, was not 100% compatible with the Plus/4, so the program was not shipped to dealers?

| wanted game found
hi, i noticed on this site several wanted games and i happen to have one of them in my collection.
i made a tap file from the original tape, i put it up here: http://www.bestsharing.com/files/6YQlcB6253202/1942.zip.html
back in the day, i couldnt see this game in the shops, it had to be ordered from their mail order phone line, guess there wernt many buyers
