As promised, here are the pictures...
"plus/4" on the label http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m299/c116/plus4/plus4_label1.jpg
"C= commodore" http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m299/c116/plus4/plus4_label2.jpg
Due to direct flashing, the edges seem to be just worn off. They are not... the silver part is the actual outline. The difference to my other plus/4s is most noticeable in the "4" which has usually very sharp edges.
The "r" in "commodore" comes closest to what the font looks like in reality.
"RF out" with the cap sealing the "H-L" opening http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m299/c116/plus4/plus4_rf_out.jpg
The case above the power and reset switches http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m299/c116/plus4/plus4_switches.jpg
This is different from all my other plus/4s. Please compare this to yours.

Yes, I will do so as soon as I get my cam back. I was going to do that anyway
I noticed some different shades in the casing color aswell on some C16s I saw. Most early ones I have seen have a metal shielding inside while the later ones all had a cardboard one.
Before, I thought that the "late" plus/4s had the round (C64 like) power supply connector but this "slightly different" one has a squared one.
Also, I have a PSU with a plastic squared connector and one with a metal outside. So there have been a couple of minor changes all the time. Probably not even in any chronological order but rather caused by supplies.

There may be little differences between the computers depending on the location and the time of manufacturing. It's easier to recognize this on the C64 (which was manufactured in much larger quantities, at more fabrics and for a longer time period... ). For example, I have a pretty earlyPlus/4 right here that has been manufactured in the U.K., which is pretty dark compared to other Plus/4's I've seen so far, and has the seal beside the rf-out that you've mentioned. Another one at home has been sold in Hungary (it has the modified ROM with Hungarian accented characters and the respective small stickers on the keys), this was manufactured later, in Germany, and is rather grey-ish. ...I'm sure there are more variants with slight differences. I don't remember the round font; you could possibly make a shot of the sticker if you don't mind...

Well... the colors are still "dithered" but much finer than on all my other plus/4s.
Additionally, the case is shaped a bit differently above the power and reset button.
Has anyone else noticed this on his plus/4?

| Please check the label on your plus/4
I just realized that one of my plus/4s has a somewhat different label.
The color bars are not "dithered" but printed in "full" colors and the font is somewhat rounded, not as much as in HARIBO but it's obvious.
It has something else I haven't seen before. Next to the antenna/tv modulator port the "H-L" opening is sealed with a cap in the case color. Furthermore, this is the only plus/4 I've seen, yet, that has a cardboard shielding underneath the mainboard instead of a metal one.
I'm sure it's not something rare but it kinda hit me by surprise when I saw the differences.
