Correct, the Audio In lines are simply merged with the sound output from TED pin 33 elsewhere on the PCB.
One thing I've just noticed, the Plus/4 service manual says that pin 8 on the AV connector is not connected, but I've checked the actual machine and it does indeed have +5V coming from it.

My apologies!!! I'll make a note in my book that the audio input loops back to audio output on the video jack. But I am correct in stating that it doesn't feed audio back to TED, right?!

I've just checked the schematics for the plus/4 and I found that Ulysses777 is right, the pin 5 of the Video connector (Audio In) and pin 23 of the expansion port connector (External audio) are looped back together to audio out. (And of course it is connected in before the RF modulator).
On the other hand I remember to use it back in 80's.

I've just checked the service manuals for the Plus/4 and C16, and the originally posted pinout is correct.
The audio in appears to loop back to the audio out.

Siz, that document is incorrect. The Plus/4 and C16 do not have an audio input on the video connector.
My source is "Alles Uber den Plus 4", 1986, Markt & Technik.

There is a document about video connector pinouts at http://www.zimmers.net/anonftp/pub/cbm/documents/cables/video-connectors.txt .

| Re: Build video cable for Commodore Plus/4
The Plus/4 and C16 use a slightly different video connector because they do not have a SID as the C64 does.
My documentation shows that pin 5 is not (audio in) on the Plus/4, but another (audio out). The difference is the voltage levels.
Also, pin 7 appears to be +5V and pin 8 is unused. Either way, you won't need to connect +5V to your video cable so both pins 7 and 8 should be unused in your connector.
So yes, for composite video, use pin 4 for your video signal. For seperated luma/croma, use pins 1 and 6 instead.

| Build video cable for Commodore Plus/4
Hi to all !!
I'm plannig to build a composite video cable for the Plus/4
I'm little bit confused ...
I noted that the DIN has different signal pin
Here it is:
(At the Computer)
8 PIN DIN (DIN45326) FEMALE at the Computer.
Pin Name Dir Description
1 LUM OUT Luminance (monochrome video) 2 GND ------ Ground 3 AOUT OUT Audio out 4 VOUT OUT Composite Video out 5 AIN IN Audio in (into the SID chip) 6 COLOR - Color ? 7 n/c - Not connected 8 +5VDC OUT +5 VDC
I'm deducing to use ground signal (pin number 2), audio out signal (pin number 3) and composite video out signal (pin number 4)... Isn't it ??
Thank in advance for your help
Massimiliano
