 Re: Tamed/Plus4

Sorry for being so lame to move the topic from the Little Prince to an attractive yellow swimsuited woman. Who knows why? grin

It was really unfair by me to put on the same page a photoshopped and converted image and such an art made by talented guys. I just can't resist to challenge the "pregnant" cutie happy
I know, how much work just a gfx need, my less detailed "raytraced" picture 20 years ago took 50 hours from my life, and caused a lot of eye burn due to a very old CRT TV happy

Back to the original picture. The C64 version is already suprisingly (OK, not) well colored, so the major Plussy effect I see is the fox. It looks really much better in this red.
Otherwise: all the remaining C64 colors just look OK. Not photo realistic, but in this case not the aim, who knows how the Little Prince may really looks like? happy

What else? Maybe I miss a little some other strong graphical elements of the original story, like the really huge trees on the planets, the plane, or the Rose herself, but otherwise without any words the picture and the pair is well recognizable and really well done in details.

 Re: Tamed/Plus4

Sorry, but the girl looked strange anyhow, back to the 90s I remember that on Amiga

Maybe the creators were just too cautious, but the girl look pregnant, or a little oversized dress happy
Could be much better, haha

A very first (raw/draft) version before touchup, just made in an hour for fun (unfortunately text background set to grey, blah!):

Surely it will look worse in Multicolor or HIRES, but will make a run for it if you like (at least there is a F1 car too :-) )

 Re: Tamed/Plus4

Thanks for having a look. :)
That's much better, she even looks 10x better but having a quick play there is a fault with the original.
The white. It's used in a number of places such as the banner as well as the girl and it's the white on the girl that needs addressing, I guess redrawing completely.

I adjusted the white quickly on PC just to see what it might look like, just as an idea. The skin is more filled in... and she needs a sun tan. :)

Maybe I just spoiled it doing so...

Don't worry if it's too much messing about to redraw everything, I just thought it might be nice to see her looking better on 8bit knowing how see looks like on the Arcade & Megadrive and that's half the problem.

This is either the Arcade machine or Megadrive version.

OMG! Very good pic and draw technic. Jailbird said on csdb, he worked on this pic 100-150 hours.

Chronos, if you get a moment could you take a look at this. happy

It's Super Monaco on the C64 loading intro screen. The image is smart but the colours make the girl look creepy as if she is an Alien, death warmed up looking. Micheal Jackson Thriller zombie almost. Not nice at all. She deserves better! wink

The colours look worse on a real machine!

 Tamed/Plus4

TamedChronos/ACW released a new picture today: check out Tamed! The picture is based on Exupéry's book "The Little Prince", and was drawn on C64 by Jailbird (who gave his blessing for this conversion). Check it out and enjoy!
