Hmm, I can't find my Vizastar 64 right now, but I do have the Vizastar 128 right here (where did I put the instruction manual?). Hard to take a screenshot of the 80-column RGB screen; however, if I can find the Info 64 magazine that reviewed it, there was a screenshot there. Vizastar 64 has the same capabilities as Vizastar 128 but with less memory, only 1 mhz. instead of 2 mhz., and only a 40-column composite screen.

Here is what is on the packaging of Vizastar 128 --

Yes! FWIW, back in the day Vizastar 128 cost $120 US retail.

So we can conclude that SVS-Calc is the best open C= spreadsheet forever! happy I suspect that the copyrights owners of Vizicalc hid it from the fair competition... wink

Not to my knowledge. However, Vizastar 128 (for the C128) was hacked so that it doesn't need the expansion port cart. This new version of Vizastar 128 (along with other utilities) comes on an eprom that plugs into the empty socket on a C128 motherboard. The eprom is called the "Megabit 128 ROM adapter".

 Re: SVS-Calc Goes To 1.5

Vizastar 64 needs its proprietary "memory expansion" cart for it to run (well, people have told me its just a big copy-protection dongle in the expansion port).

I think an 80 column screen would be more useful than 16 colors but that's just me.

 SVS Calc V1.5

I finally played around with it a bit (I'm sure I only scratched the surface), and once again I have to say this is insanely incredible. It's hard to comprehend how all of this could be coded on a Plussy. Hats off, SVS. Very nice YouTube ad too!

 SVS-Calc Goes To 1.5

SVS-Calc 1.5...And in the beginning of year 2010, the best 8bit spreadsheet tool ever gets higher!
Yes, the author, SVS/FIRE, decided to improve his best piece of code, unleashing the serious nature of Plus/4, and now we have SVS-Calc V1.5!

Apart of tons of needed bugfixes, there are several new features to discover:
- complete scientific notation is now allowed in any cell with auto-reduced notation;
- grid can be reduced in order to have full view of your sheet;
- formulas can now use external values stored on disk;
- paste special;
- emulators' synchronized digital clock with alarm;
- and much more! (...even an Easter egg!)
Look at the Youtube Ad to get a picture of what you can expect from it.
