 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

OK, that's the way to do. Thanks.

Update: Eduardo, I assembled your design, after ordering the PCB at PCBways. It is working very fine on my Commodore 16. It will work with the Plus/4 also, but there is one problem: when you have a 1551 connected, the PCB does not fit the joyports. Because of the Paddle in its way. With a flexible cable part this can be solved, but that is not a charming solution.

I also had another idea of putting the PCB inside the C16 case, with the two leds and button at the top op the keyboard. When I solder the joypins of the PCB inside on the corresponding joypins of the connector, will this work? And with the PCB connected internal, what happens when you connect a wired joystick at the same time?

They are connected, see detail:

Thanks for the amperage data.

The Minidin 8p, what about pin 1 and 2? How are they connected to the PCB? The PCB top has 3 pads above and 3 pads below.

 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

Some measurements:

* Idle (no controller paired): 95-96mA
* 1 controller paired: 104-105mA
* 1 controller in "enhanced" mode: 108-109mA
* 2 controllers paired: 111-112mA

Power consumption wise, the difference between normal and enhanced modes is basically the extra led on. Pairing a second controller adds 3 mA for marginal extra computing power.

 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

I'm using it without problems with a modern 2A PSU. I have not tested it with the original plus/4 PSU as I don't own one, but it is possible that won't be enough specially if used along with a cartridge and/or any device attached to the user port. In that case, it can be powered up using the USB port.

 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

I wonderi: is the +5VDC of the C16 enough to power the Unijoysticle 2 without the need of an external USB powersupply?

Does it have enough amperage?

Sorry, I think I replied before reading half of your message wink

It is not really a converter, the 74hct240 inputs are directly connected to the ESP32 module. You can check the schematic at the project page.

 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

The interface logic is completely different. It uses a pair of 74hct240 buffers with inverted outputs and joystick 1 & 2 are swapped as, AFAIK, c16 games usually make use of joystick in port 1. It is based on the work of Levente Hársfalvi, same as some active joystic converters out there.

 Re: Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

Nice!

What is the difference with the C64 model (beside the the minidin connectors)?

Did you change the selectpin/GND?

When you based it on the simple Joyadapter design Levente Hársfalvi, I suppose you connected:

DB9 pin: > Minidin pin:
5 pot Y > 5 +5VDC
7 +5VDC > 7 GND
8 GND > 8 Select

Hi, i've recently contributed a c16/Plus 4 board to the project. You can check it out at https://gitlab.com/ricardoquesada/unijoysticle2/-/tree/master/contrib/unijoysticle2-c16

 Anyone working with Unijoysticle 2 (bluetooth) on C16/Plus 4?

I am curious if anyone made this thing operational on our machines.
