it could be that 16kextra is the memory reserved for direct use by the speech synthesizer

It is not exactly clear what that document refers to. A Plus/4 computer can handle built-in BASIC ROM (low 16kB) and KERNAL ROM (high 16kB), internal expansion ROM (low 16kB and high 16kB), external ROM expansion 1 (low 16kB and high 16kB) and external ROM expansion 2 (low 16kB and high 16kB). That's altogether 128 kB. Probably it was based on some preliminary design, or it was meant as an early ad flyer.

C364 ROM size

I read on our page here that it was claimed in the publication that the 364 could manage 48K of ROM. Is it correct? I thought that 32K was the maximum size.
