Re: uk1541 @corpsicle: good to know, thank you! uk1541 is a very cool device, even just for the aestethics, but I'll be truly interested when the support for straight .prg files will be eventually added in.
Re: uk1541 I got mine last night. While it works great with c64 and vic20, it won't fit into Plus4 without userportextender. On breadbox machines the display is partly hidden but thats not a big problem. On the Plus4 the userport is to far "inside" the outer edge of the case so you have to bend the device dangerously to make it fit, and even then its at an extreme angle so i didnt dare turn anything on. =)
My first thoughts, it will be good for demoing, but not for "original tape" gamers... I don't care the .tap support, just correct support of the IRQ loaders!
Re: uk1541 Wow. That's interesting. How acurate the 1541 emulation is? I mean, did you tested it with for example some demos that use krill's loader? or anything that uses IRQ loadres at all? If it works then I'd say it's really kool!
uk1541 A new polish true 1541 floppy hw emu appeared! its based on Cortex M0 LPC1114 + MSP430G2553.

Some video on youtube about testing the hardware:

Current development version draws the power directly from the c64, but maybe later an alternate version can be ordered that we can use for our beloved commy plussy. It features an LCD and a remote control, so you have total control under your .d64 files It also handles the IRQ loaders, so great for demowatching too. planned price will be around 55 Euros plus shipping and handling..
