The sub-D connector goes on the 128 or Amiga, the round end on a 1902 or similar monitor that uses the round monitor connector.
Some 1902s use a sub-D connector, in which case you can use a Atari-type joystick extension cable, or a 9-pin IBM serial cable extension, in place of a monitor cable.
The 128 and the Amiga output different 80 column signals, so you'll have to flip the digital/analog switch on the monitor to see which gives you a picture.

Thanks, I haven't thought about that. So which end plugs into the C128?

It might be an 80 column monitor cable for the C128.

   |   Monitor cable (8pin DIN to SUB-D), what for?
Hi guys, bit off topic but I'd like to know
I found a cable and I'm not exactly sure what it is for.
On one end it has an 8 pin DIN plug (one center pin and seven "around") and on the other and a SUB-D 9 pin plug, actually, it got only 8 pins. I think this one came with an AMIGA monitor but I'm not sure since I never owned an Amiga. Can somebody enlight me?
