 Re: Let's Play Double Blocks!

Nice game, I am ready to join more challanges!

Few comments on the game:
-The music playback is pretty advanced, and frankly speaking, I could not image someone could put a working game next to a digi SID playback! Fantastic.
-On the other hand I believe this music is one of the causes prevented me to reach higher scores. Sometimes the buttons did not respond at once. How the speed would be with native SID playback?
-The other issue is that compared to the logic of the PC game I used: on PC the UP key was the rotation, and the DOWN key was the push down. On this game it is just the contrary. I always had to think which button is rotation. When I was really into the game, I always pressed the up for rotation (reflexes) and the game was over.
-During the rotatino the machine seems to pull down the longer forms to fir into the screen, I think it is unecessary

 Re: Let's Play Double Blocks!

Are there any plans to turn this into a recurring event, or was it a one time thing on a whim?

 Re: Let's Play Double Blocks!

Thanks, @Csabo. In fact @hitman made some games based on Choose your adventure books but they seem to be lost.

 Let's Play Double Blocks!

We had a Let's Play event in 2021, which was a moderate success. Today's game of the day is Double Blocks, released exactly 31 years ago! So, I figured: Let's Play! All Plus/4 fans (and quiet lurkers) are invited to play a round with this game over the weekend (come on, you have 5 minutes, don't you?) and submit your score to the HOF, no matter the result. Winning isn't the goal (although you can make it to be), participation is.

A few thoughts about the game: It's an interesting Tetris implementation. The digiconverter music through out is neat IMHO. The fact that there's a 0 player mode is also cool happy Nicely done menu, some 80 column text, keyboard/joystick controls, and obviously the two player mode is fun. The game starts with the message "Welcome to the first TBC-Game !!!", but I guess enthusiasm quickly waned, as TBC only released this one game ever happy
