Re: Commodore Plus/4 Made in GDR?

Cheers Mik,

It's very likely that the Plus/4 from that Eastern German source has been manufactured in Braunschweig (Brunswick), Western Germany, like that one you provided the link for.

After the Plus/4 started to be sold by ALDI at a bargain price of DM 229 including a 1531 (in Juky of 1986 that equalled to approx. £ 74), quite a lot of them went into Eastern Germany as christmas gifts. All of those Plussis were made in Braunschweig where the German Commodore plant was located.

A shame it does not show the whole of the serial number sticker as that normally states where it was made...

Re: Commodore Plus/4 Made in GDR?

Re: Commodore Plus/4 Made in GDR?

No, there haven't been Plus/4 machines made in GDR. In GDR, only the Z80 CPU was available.
The Plus/4 shown was property of a GDR company which demonstrates that the model was quite accepted as an office machine.

 Commodore Plus/4 Made in GDR?

http://www.ebay.de/itm/Commodore-plus4-und-Discdrive-Commodore-1541-aus-DDR-Fabrikbestand-rar-/351464893216?hash=item51d4f0ab20

A +4 made in GDR? I think this is a fake or?
