OK
It's not convert from Atari
It's a C64 pic converted from original Atari pic I did before.
Is it a world first?

@carrion
Exin told me a lot about those graphics modes. I only remember a few things but on the whole it sounds like a puzzle without valid solutions wink

Nonetheless: Keep going with your blog! It really is awesome!

@Degaus
In terms of colors they are booth simillar.
If it comes to gfx modes then +4 can't be bitten.
I prepare article about Atari 8bit gfx mode of g2f. If you havent tried yet be aware it's a nightmare. wink

On a quick look, Atari and +4 seem to be on par with each other. Closer looking reveals: You seem to be a bit more free in the choice of colors on +4, right?

 Re: Another Convert from Atari

Borders aren't done in the same way on the C64 as they are on the Plus/4 MIK, there's no screen DMA in that space (and no way to force it there) so you only get the hardware sprites, "ghost byte" and colour splits to build graphics from. (You can force the Plus/4 to do the same thing as the C64 but it isn't particularly useful for games use.)

The A8 picture could probably be nudged up until the second dark blue horizontal line was at the top of the screen with sprites handling the light blue arc and that little grey bit of the ship in the upper border, but the detail that'd need to be in the lower border... well, i've only taken a passing look just now but reckon it'd be tricky without some reworking/removing of minor elements.

 Re: Another Convert from Atari

Yeah fantastic picture and great work on the Plus/4 full screen conversion!
It gives the impression of an awesome game loading. happy

I would of thought the C64 could of displayed the full picture as well seeing as C64 Ikari Warriors makes use of the borders in much the same way Summer Events does on our system.

 Another Convert from Atari

Atari guys at atarionline.pl tried to convert one of the latest Atari 8bit pics to C64. They Failed IMO. Here my attempt to convert it to C64 and C+4
