Just wanted to congratulate everyone for the cool demos and graphics released at arok. skoros demo is pretty cool as well as the fact there were three (!) graphics in the compo, even one beeing a hires-picture (good work, chronos!

Re: AROK 2012 Buy the classic Kobanyai instead of Dreher! It is almost the same At my childhood there was a funny grafix, that a horse drank Dreher, and Kobanyai came out later
But in fact Kobanyai won 3 golden medals in the recent years in Bruessels Monde Selection, and i can tell a lot of bad things about Belgian people (sorry, my fault, I worked too long with them, haha!), but believe me, they are expert in beers.

Re: AROK 2012 I've watched "Pimp My Commodore", the C64 winner demo, and of course it's a fantastic onefiler, with charplasma on the sideborders, gigantic bobvectors and so on.
About the Kefrens they've shown up: why nobody did, even on plus/4, a Kefrens+$FF07 like that? I've never afforded to code a Kefrens part, this means I dunno how much rastertime it steals. Of course, the $FF07 sinus must read the table at the start of every single scanline, and that's a fast and easy code in order to do it unregarding badlines, no prob. Hence, the slice of code that generates the bars should easily fit in the rest of the running frame...or did they also take advantage from the residual rastertime at every scanline?
Side note: wow, we don't have a definition for Kefrens bars in the encyclopedia! :/ Please someone should fill the void!
Re: AROK 2012 No, it's not 3rd, just listed as the 3rd demo (since that was the order it was shown), but the last two numbers in that line show the score and the rank.
Our site is much better though, since if you want to see the compo results, you just look at the main menu and click... Wait, you search for Arok 14 and then... Or no, I mean you go to... Khm, right (Results here.)

Re: AROK 2012 Congratulations to all the buddies who reached Ajkarendek's Gym, I missed a pretty kewl time for sure! About me, holidays apart, I'm in a not-so-easy time in my life, so I would eventually have reached the party with serious difficulties, but time is by my side, and I promise I won't miss a further chance in the future. I'm sad a bit about some expected releases which didn't get the chance to become reality, but if they haven't been realized, I trust they will one day.
At the moment, I'm waiting for the official results, and then I'll add'em to pouet.net (Édesanyám's rank is still marked as "last place", and that doesn't help ).
Lavina, I would attend an eventual party in Debrecen: I've never visited the Hajdú-Bihar region and I really would, especially because of the fantastic wines that region is famous for. And I remember you boasted about a very notable collection of rare and historical bottles
After a certain period of time lacking, now I should have a bit more time to produce something, so I'll try to help Kichy first in finishing his projects. Several other users have nowadays heavy real life commitments, hence maybe it's time to connect our efforts once again, as for 8SoB and CD4, expectating future chances.

The Skoro-demo is very-very good and designed well, excellent stuff in 16K!!! And the winner demo is dah best onefiller ever! There's already a quick results update. No Plus/4 winner this year (congrats to all winners on all platforms!), but we Represented, with a capital R
Pigmy, Murphy and siz from the visitors list could not make it. Final attendance on the Plus/4 front was: BSZ, Chronos, Csabo, Csio, Gaia, Sensor, SJP (edhellon), TLC. Also present was: NoLuca, NoChicken and NoDegauss! Another nice surprise: I met Bear(tm)! We had a nice conversation with SJP (sorry for using the outdated nick, in my heart it's stuck ) about a promise regarding Gaia, 2bit trackloaders and a Plus/4 release... The new "promise" is promising: he said that a new demo is not out of the question and to keep our eyes open

I promised a few people that I would have a SID card for them by AROK 2012, I'll be there on Saturday afternoon/night, the concerned persons can receive it there! Howewer! There's a few international buyers, this concerns them: the stuff still costs 12500 HUF or 50 EUR. The card's price in Euros was calculated under a completely different exchange rate. I WILL NOT exchange money on the party, but if you can pay in Forints, you can get it for the HUF price, regardless of where you live.
I've been promising a test program, which will be done soon it seems. I think I overcomplicated it a bit, but I can say that I managed to write my very first event-driven program ever, on Plus/4. (Mwahaha...) Maybe it won't be 100% by the party, but there's really only a few hours of testing is left, soon it will go to its "homepage", along with some documentation updates.

BTW I have a 10" Portable DVD player (PET1031) from Philips with RCA inputs, but never tried out with Plussy, I prefer my 32" LCD :-) But will make a try, just for fun. It is 800x480, and 16:9 ratio, so Plussy may look strange on that.
(BTW I got it as a gift from the vice president due to my personal prompt action that potentially protected some customers life...long story. One year later my contract stopped with the factory, being too expensive. Bah! That's business)
I won't have a chance to get to Hungary to attend the meeting.
There's an item on my Plussy wishlist: Bard's Tale. So far, the Plus/4 version is crippled resp. corrupted and does run neither on the real thing nor under a PC emulator.
Perhaps one ore more of the coding experts could have a look at it during the AROK meeting? I'd offer a reward: a bottle of Smirnoff vodka!

Re: AROK 2012 Its small, but enough 800x600, 8" ~20cm.. with c64 there is a bunch of small stripes on the left bottom side of the screen.. i'm happy with it, cool especially for the price

It is 800x600 native (the lcd tv), accepts rca, vga, rgb and of course there is an analogue tuner so you can connect on rf too (i hooked on rca, i'm was satisfied with the result, but later i will check it on rf too). you can check the price and the details on dx.com just type the SKU 55245 into the search field. it will NOT be an advertisement in any form ..:.. Re: AROK 2012 Absolutely cool, I wanna have one too! Which tv cable does it need? Of course what you miss with an LCD monitor is all the weird PAL effect you must get in count when pixeling.

Re: AROK 2012 I know it may sound incredible, but I still use my very old X1541 cable I've built up by myself in 1994 in order to begin archiving the stuff on ftp.inf.bm.hu, once I discovered the little Delta System archive up there! Which should be at now the best solution for a decent PC <-> 1541 linking on XP o 7?
