I added it to the list of effects as Fence/Diagonal Checkers. You'll find it linked from any of the demos mentioned in the first post of this thread.

The source file bubis gave me for Error23 was indeed named fence.s.
I believe the grandfather of this effect is from the C64-demo Arcanum/Xenon where WVL called his effect 'gonzofence'. (http://noname.c64.org/csdb/release/?id=11588)

I remember bubis (who's been the first to bring that effect) callied it a "fence".

Being used a similar effect in "Error 23" c64 trackmo, I saw some c64 ppl calling it "diagonal checker", I think this should include it into the chessboard stuff in general...but I guess that's not completely right.

Is there's an official or common name for the waving effect seen in Rehash and We are the cure? The term "fence" comes to mind, but I'm not sure where I heard that.
Also, bubis, Breeze contains a variation of the same effect, right?
