Some months ago here (I work in a College) was a "meeting" between Business Software Alliance (formely known as BSA - Softwarepolice as hungarians may think, but it is not the truth, they have absolutely no rights) and us, mortal people.
I don't want to get lost in parts of the situation, but I was really curious, and I asked the vice-president of BSA about converted and just old programs. He said: you may do anything with any program, if the maker does not want to get you into trouble.
Eg.: I think DMA design does not care about C64 anymore, so you can do anything with that software, and you won't get into jail, just because you have a CD with tousands of old games from C64 and Spectrum.

I hope he was serious, and not just wanted me to get "striped coat"... :)
