Ooops, I know I can't speak English but it seems I can't read too :)) I misunderstood something. Sorry.
Well. Pirates uses floppy, doesn't it? If the memory is very full, you could put some parts to the disk (some overlay-technology ;) Or if it stores a lot of graphics in the memory, you should try to compress them and decompress when needed. Or... start VICE on your PC and load the game
