Nope, this hadn't anything to do with revisions; I also received my C16 with a working 8360R2, that I could transform once to this kind of "non-latching" 8360R2 in a minute or so  . The process didn't take more than once soldering the joystick with an instant soldering iron, while the joystick was connected to the computer |-D . ...The problem was caused by electric shocks. Bad joysticks, badly interfaced C64 joysticks and the like...  AFAIK, Solder/Syn even sold something like a "TED protector"... with which one could have possibly avoided such accidents...
