Hop on over to the Star Commander website at http://sta.c64.org
Once there, take at look at the DOS tools page and you'll find Star Lister. That is what I used to make master lists of the contents of the .d64 archives that Lando posted on this site about 3 years ago.
Warning: If you try to catalogue an unformatted disk, Star Lister will bomb out. You'll need to be sure that all the images actually have something (even a blank headered disk would be ok), otherwise break them down into smaller groups so that you can do a hundred or so at a time. You can always paste the smaller lists into a larger list after Star Lister is through.
