Thanks. I noticed that too...
My program ended up like this:
1 OPEN1,8,15,"UI":FORT=1TO50:NEXT
2 IFINSTR(DS$,"1541")>0THEND=1 RINT"1541 DETECTED - USING TURBO"
3 CLOSE1
It worked without the FOR loop too, but I put it in there just to be sure...
