I bought my C16 memory expansion around 1987 for about 1500 Hungarian Forints which at that time was roughly 18 British Pounds. I can't judge if it was a lot of money in the UK back then, it was definitely a lot for me  (the whole C16 costed about 8000, that is, about 95 Pounds at the end of 1985).
