JPG is fine as long as you make sure that you set the quality to 100%, then it's
losless compression. Seeting the quality to ~80% however already makes the files much
smaller and still reasonable quality.
Could you experiment with it a little? My mailbox size is 5 MB, but please do not use the Hotmail account as it has got a 2 MB limit :-/
