A tape deck or walkman first? I suppose cable also to connect to your mic input happy

To be more serious:
Basically it works in the same way as the Spectrums. You connect an external Cassette player to your PC sound card, record the tape content as WAV file (signal level is important, but you can adjust it), then specific programs able to create out of that a TAP file compatible with the emus.

some of them are DOS program, you may also need a DOSBOX to able to run under XP or Vista environment.
